The Cost of Buying your Home
Solicitors Fees
As well as paying a solicitor or licensed conveyancer for the work that he or she does, you’ll have to pay the cost of land registry charges and local search fees.
Stamp Duty
This is a tax paid by you when you buy a property worth £125,001 or more. The threshold for first time buyers is £250,000. The amount you pay will depend on the value of the property you’re buying.
Valuation and Survey Fees
You may need to pay for a valuation or survey. The amount you pay will depend on the type of valuation or survey you have.
Mortgage Advice Fees
Some brokers may charge a fee for the advice they give you, however we do not charge for our advice.
Application/Arrangement fees
We do not charge for our advice. Instead, we simply charge a fee for processing your mortgage application. Our typical fee is £299, however the actual fee will depend on your circumstances.
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
If you add any fees to your loan, interest will be charged on these amounts during the term of the mortgage. Some fees will not be refunded even if your mortgage doesn’t go ahead.
