The founder who built purpose into property

Eighty years ago, Cecil Jackson-Cole founded Andrews with a philanthropic vision: to use his property business as a force for good. A pioneering social entrepreneur, he also helped establish charities including Oxfam and Help the Aged. Cecil didn’t just provide funding to charitable causes – he seconded Andrews staff to support them directly, offering hands-on support.

Cecil went on to found charitable trusts that supported a wide range of causes, and shortly before his death, he placed Andrews into charitable ownership to protect its purpose for generations to come.

Today, Andrews is proudly owned by Andrews Charitable Trust.

80 years on, still led by purpose

Eighty years on, we’re still a purpose-led business. We continue to put people at the heart of everything we do — doing the right thing by our customers, supporting local communities and helping young people at risk of homelessness through the Establish project.

Our teams get involved in school career days and fetes, take part in local community events, and raise funds for Andrews Charitable Trust and its charity partners. But we don’t just give our time, we support with skills too. That includes professional support – from property management to marketing – to help Andrews Charitable Trust thrive.

80 years in action

As we celebrate our 80th year, we’ll be sharing stories that bring our impact over the decades to life — from the countless buyers, sellers and renters we’ve helped move, to the many charities we’ve supported.
