A guide to gardening this Spring...
Spring is well and truly here and although the weather is yet to get this news there’s still lots of things you can be doing to get your garden ready for those long summer days.
Spring clean your garden
Take a look at your garden and write a list of all of the different areas that you want to have a refresh and tackle them one by one. This might be going through everything in the shed and getting your tools ready for the job ahead or tidying up the beds from unwanted weeds and getting rid of any plants that have sadly not made it through the winter.
Summer flowering bulbs and seeds
Once the garden has been spring cleaned and everything is much more organised it’s time to plan for some new additions. There are lots of plants that are great to plant in April such as bold sunflowers, pretty cosmos and remember that now is the time to plant summer-flowing bulbs such as lilies and freesias.
Start collecting water – April showers
April is called April showers for a good reason so now is the best time to invest in a water butt and collect all that rain water. This will come in handy throughout spring and summer to keep your garden hydrated and in full bloom and it’s also great for the environment as well.
If your garden is big enough then it can be a perfect place to host summer evenings and a great way of bringing your home outside is to invest in some quality outdoor furniture. There are so many options that you can really continue the design of your home into your garden.
If having a garden, or a bigger garden is top of your property wish list then get in contact with your local branch who can discuss your property requirements and help find the perfect property for you.
