Positive house price growth across all regions

As spring approaches, momentum seems to be building across the UK housing market. This is traditionally a strong time in the property market, so if you are considering moving this year then now is a great time to get organised.

The Office for National Statistics has reported that average property prices are now rising in every region of the UK, which is the first time that this has happened in nearly two years.

Property price growth is currently strongest across Yorkshire and the Humber and the East Midlands where house prices are growing at 3.9% and 2.8%, year on year. Growth across the capital sits at 2.3%, its strongest level since October 2017.

In the South West house price growth is at 2.2% and in the South East it’s 1.2%. Take a look at our monthly market reviews to find out how the property market is performing in your area.

The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and Rightmove have both reported that there has also been a notable increase in buyer demand throughout the start of 2020, and sales volumes are also on the rise.

If you are thinking about moving then now is a great time to get an up to date valuation to see if your property has increased in price. Contact one of our property advisers at your local branch to find out how we can get you moving.
