Things to consider when choosing a letting agent
With so many agents out there, it’s tricky knowing which will be the best at letting and managing your property. On the surface they might all seem the same, each offering a similar package – but there will be differences from one agent to the next.
Although you may be driven by price, don’t automatically go with the agent that offers you the highest valuation and the lowest fees – neither will necessarily equate to a quick let and good ongoing service. Instead, look at the whole picture. For example, what different type of management do they offer and what exactly do you get for your fees?
So before you sign on the dotted line, check through the following list to make sure you’re making the right decision.
1. What services do they provide?
It’s important to decide what type of landlord you’ll be and pick a service that suits you. DO you want an agency that will fully manage your property for you or are you going to manage the let yourself?
We’ve designed our lettings services around you, so that you can pick the approach that best suits you, as well as the option to add extras and tailor these services.

2. What’s included in the fees?
When you choose to market your property for let with an agent it is important that you understand and are aware of the fees for the services that is being offered.
An explanation of Andrews’ fees can be found here.
3. How will they support you?
You’ll also want to find out what experience your agent has of letting and managing a home like yours.
We’ve designed our service around landlords’ needs and because we’re always on the lookout for ways to make your life easier, we’ve developed an app that can keep you in the loop with your let at all times.
Your My Andrews account also allows you to receive viewing requests, feedback and offers. You can also download our app, and keep up to date through your phone
4. Ensure you’re covered
Hopefully there won’t be any problems, but if there are you’ll want somewhere to turn.
We’re covered by The Property Ombudsman and our Client Money Protection is provided by Propertymark so we make sure to abide by their conduct and membership rules.
5. Service matters
One of the best ways to scope out an agent is to look at ay reviews that they have online or you might also want to see if they’ve won any industry awards.
We recently won Gold at The ESTAS for Large Letting Agent of the Year for the second year running. This award was voted for by our landlords, demonstrating that our tailored, trustworthy and timely approach to letting property is paying off.
We’ve also been awarded the Gold Trusted Service Award from Feefo for two years running as well. Take a look to see what our customers have to say about us here.
