What could you buy in the UK with the Wimbledon prize money?
Wimbledon is well underway and come this weekend the champions will be crowned, and they’ll be getting their fair share of the prize pot.
While the average price of a property across England and Wales has risen by 10% since 2019, at £35million the total prize pot for Wimbledon is actually 11% lower.
But what properties could you afford to buy with a share of this £35 million?
Those that reach the 4th round will get £181k, which means that they’d have their pick of 46% of all terraced houses in England and Wales, or they could purchase this 1 bedroom newly converted apartment located in Cheltenham.
Making it to the quarter final means that £300k prize money would be heading your way, which could purchase 66% of all apartments or this stunning 2 bedroom period property located in Bath.
Those that make it to the semi-final will earn £465k which would allow them to purchase 88% of all semi-detached homes, including this 4 bedroom detached house in Gloucestershire.
The person who makes it to the final, but sadly falls short of winning, can console themselves with their prize fund of £900k, which could purchase 94% of all detached homes, as well as this high spec 4 bedroom detached home in Bath.
Finally, the winner will scoop a massive £1.7 million and basically have pick of any property they want as this prize fund would allow them to purchase 99.4% of all properties. It would even mean that they had some spare change left over if they purchased this £1.5million unique detached property, with a private leisure complex located in Bristol.
