Running for Carers Worldwide

This year, we have four fantastic runners entering the London Marathon to raise money for two fantastic causes.

With less than three weeks to go, we wanted to share a little bit more about each of our runners and what it means to them to be running in a few weeks time.

Why did you want to run the London Marathon?

I’ve wanted to run the London Marathon for many years, I’ve failed to get in via the ballot so almost lost hope of ever running it. However, I’ve been very lucky to gain a place through Carers Worldwide, which is one of the charities that my employer Andrews Property Group supports.

Running such a prestigious event and for a great cause is probably the best outcome I could have hoped for. I’ve always been a very ambitious and the London Marathon is right up there with one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced.

Why did you choose to run for Carers Worldwide?

I have raised money for various charities before, mostly large charities where donations are sometimes swallowed up and almost go un-noticed. Carers Worldwide are a more unique charity where my own contributions will go further and really help those who need it most.
 
Andrews Property Group are strongly linked with the charity, part of the reason I joined the company. Raising money for unsung heroes whose work largely goes unnoticed gives me great satisfaction.

How has your training been going?

Training has been going well, not quite as advanced as I hoped, but definitely going well. I’m now running 2 to 3 times a week and my fitness and mental well-being have both dramatically improved.
