Meet the team: Mukul Mehta
This week, we caught up with Mukul Mehta, our Senior Mortgage & Protection Adviser from our Kingsbury branch.
Mukul has worked with Andrews since 2009 and during his time has won numerous awards for his outstanding customer service.
Mukul firstly, huge congratulations on your recent win at the ESTAs!
Thank you, I feel extremely proud and honoured to have won gold for the “Best Regional Mortgage Broker for London’ for the second year in a row! It is the positive customer feedback received each year that has enabled me to gain this coveted industry award.I want to thank all the Andrews customers who voted for me. Without their positive words of encouragements and trust in me to take care of their special home and investment purchases this would not be possible.
Introduce yourself
I have been with Andrews since November 2009 having previously been in the estate agency and financial service industry for around 20 years.
My wife often says jokingly (I think!) that I am married to my work but in my spare time I enjoy watching most sports and supporting Arsenal FC, playing Fantasy Football and Wordle, as well as spending time with my family and friends.
Fun fact – I’ve travelled to Las Vegas on numerous occasions and have zip lined off the Strat Hotel, the tallest building in the state of Nevada (1,149 feet tall).
Tell us about Kingsbury
Kingsbury is a diverse part of North London, home to a wide variety of cultures and great local amenities – we are, in fact just down the road from Wembley Stadium for any sports or music fans! There’s also a great range of restaurants and cuisines to choose from if you fancy a bite to eat. As Kingsbury is on the Jubilee line, there’s excellent transport links to London, as well as being close to the M25 and the M1 if you wish to travel further afield.
And what about the property?
There is a mixture of property types ranging from converted flat and maisonettes to purpose built flats and houses. Being on the outskirts of London with a London post code means that the property prices are extremely reasonable compared to other parts of London and the vast array of amenities make it a fantastic place to live.
Our branch team have a lot of experience, the longest serving member of the team Kim has worked for Andrews nearly 30 years (but she looks like she is one of the youngest in the office!). Duane, our business manager has been with the branch 10 years and assistant manager has been with the branch 15 years. Having so much experience and local knowledge really helps us to provide a great customer experience, so if you’re thinking of a move to Kingsbury, give us a call!
What’s the best thing about working for Andrews?
Andrews is steeped in history and is quite a unique business with its philanthropic ethos and Charitable acts, supporting the greater community. That’s what makes it such a worthwhile company and cause to work for.
Given your extensive experience, what are your top three tips for anyone looking to get a mortgage/remortgage?
- First and foremost, book an appointment with a mortgage adviser to get an affordability and fact find assessment done. They can advise you on what deals are available for you and help set realistic expectations of how much you’ll be able to borrow. Read our useful guide for more of what to expect at this appointment.
- Make sure you are prepared by having all your required documents together for your mortgage application. Your adviser can let you know what you need, for example evidence of income, Bank statements, ID etc.
- Protect yourself! Make sure that you have considered protecting your ability to pay your debts (mortgage, for example) and lifestyle costs if the unforeseen were to happen. If the last few years has taught us anything, it’s that we can’t predict what could happen so protecting yourself is crucial.
