Andrews Group Lettings Director becomes President of ARLA Propertymark
Angharad Trueman, Andrews Group Lettings Director stepped into the role of President of ARLA Propertymark on the 28th of June 2024.
Her key role is to be an ambassador for the organisation, meeting with members and other key stakeholders to talk about the benefits of being an ARLA Propertymark member and raising standards in the lettings industry.
Angharad (Harry as she is known) said,
‘This pivotal moment in my career is not only a personal milestone but also an exciting opportunity to influence and drive positive change within the property sector. After being voted in as Vice President of the organisation, I stepped up to become President-Elect in 2023 and at the end of June 2024, I became President of the ARLA division (the side that represents Letting Agents) for a year.
Propertymark members stand for professionalism, learning and the highest possible standards in Agency. We self-regulate in what is currently an unregulated industry, we must undertake exams and CPD and business audits, we always aim to promote what being a good property agent looks like and we are at the forefront of legislation change within property.
My enthusiasm for the role stems from several key factors listed below;
Advocating for Industry Excellence in the Lettings Industry
One of the primary reasons I am looking forward to becoming ARLA Propertymark President is the platform it provides to advocate for high standards and ethical practices within the Lettings industry. ARLA Propertymark has long been a beacon of professionalism, setting rigorous standards that ensure landlords and tenants receive the most compliant and best possible service. As President of the organisation, I aim to continue this legacy, promoting initiatives that enhance transparency, accountability, and trust in the property market. By working closely with industry stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and policymakers, I hope to address key challenges and drive reforms that benefit both professionals and consumers.
Championing Professional Development and an Industry to forge a career in for all.
The property sector is ever-evolving, and staying ahead requires continuous learning and adaptation. As President and a holder of a Level 4 Qualification, I am particularly passionate about championing professional development and education. ARLA Propertymark offers a wealth of resources and training programmes designed to equip members with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a competitive environment. By empowering property professionals to excel, we can elevate the overall standards of the industry and ensure our members are well-prepared to meet the demands of the future.
I’m also passionate about career paths in agency having built a successful career from this industry myself, I look forward to being a role model to more young people and demonstrating that a career in Agency could be for them. I am also keen to encourage women to believe that they can aim for Senior roles. I am happy to provide advice and tips on this.
Engaging with the Letting Agent Community
At the heart of ARLA Propertymark is its vibrant and diverse community of property professionals. One of the aspects I most look forward to in my presidency is the opportunity to engage with this community on a deeper level and spend a great deal of time listening to the feedback and concerns of letting agent members across the country. Whether through regional meetings, national conferences, or online platforms, my goal is to bring a sense of unity and shared purpose among our members, encouraging the exchange of ideas and best practices.
Personal Growth and Leadership
On a personal level, becoming ARLA Propertymark President represents a significant opportunity for growth and leadership and a way to show that Andrews Property Group really does stand head and shoulders above agents who aren’t interested in investing in learning and knowledge. It is a role that demands dedication, and the ability to inspire and mobilise others. I am eager to embrace these challenges, drawing on my experience and passion for the industry to make a meaningful impact. This presidency is not just a career highlight; it is a chance to give back to the profession that has given me so much and I hope to leave a lasting legacy of positive change.
The role of ARLA Propertymark President is more than just a title; it is a commitment to excellence, a pledge to support and uplift our members, and a dedication to advancing the property industry as a whole, I can’t wait to get started.’
